Overview
Self-sovereignty · Metaintelligence · Adaptability
∆ DELTUM (hereafter also ∆) is an open community and a direction of shared work concerned with determining one's own path, investigating thinking, transforming ways of acting and expanding the possibilities available.
∆ can exist as a space for discussion, practice, research, creative work and collaboration. Its content is not exhausted by any single discipline, theory or way of life. Taking part does not require accepting a finished picture of the world.
What exists is not necessarily final.
Three directions
Self-sovereignty. The capacity to take part in setting one's own direction, to make decisions, to manage the resources available and to revisit the grounds of one's goals.
Metaintelligence. The capacity to investigate one's own thinking, to notice its assumptions, to evaluate the models in use and, when needed, to change the ways one understands and solves problems.
Adaptability. The capacity to change ways of acting, to take up new possibilities and to relate decisions to changing circumstances.
These are three independent concepts. Their interconnections can be explored, but ∆ sets no required sequence, hierarchy or single method for developing them.
Shared bearings
- Incompleteness: the present state of a person or a community is not considered its final form.
- Subjecthood: what matters is the possibility of taking a meaningful part in choosing and changing one's own direction.
- Freedom and possibility: the real conditions for independent action are what count.
- Critical openness: beliefs, methods and the positions of ∆ itself are open to revision.
- Practice: ideas gain meaning through investigation, discussion, testing and application.
- Diversity: participants may differ in their goals, interests and worldviews.
No principle serves as grounds for demanding endless productivity, uniform development or unconditional agreement.

Status of the text
This is introductory edition 0.1. The definitions are working ones and make no claim to finality. Each document can be discussed, corrected and extended independently of the others. Criticising the foundations of ∆ is compatible with taking part in ∆.
A good place to start is the manifesto, then the principles and whichever topic interests you. The methodology and the community document are meant for collective work.
